The Applicant was charged and convicted of the offence of murder contrary to Section 203 as read with Section 204 of the Penal Code. The trial court sentenced him to serve ten (10) years’ imprisonment. The Applicant has served 4 years and 4 months of his sentence and is remaining with a further 2 years and 3 months to serve after remission.
The Sentence Review Report filed on 3rd September 2024 by Senior Probation Officer Samwel Chuma does not recommend a non-custodial sentence. I direct that the Applicant shall continue to serve the remainder of his sentence in custody.
Orders accordingly.
