For advocates

Receive client referrals as a verified advocate

Wakili Link is a technology platform, not a law firm. We connect subscribing clients with independent, verified advocates. Advocate identity and availability are never shown to the public — only to clients who have completed onboarding and are actively seeking your kind of matter.

How it works

From registration to your first referral

Register

Create an advocate account and tell us your practice areas, jurisdictions, languages and experience.

Verify & vet

Upload your practising certificate, admission details, professional indemnity cover and ID. Our team reviews every application before approval.

Get approved

Once approved, your profile becomes eligible to receive referrals matching your practice areas — visible only inside the private platform, never on the public web.

Receive referrals

Accept or decline each referral. You engage the client directly; the platform facilitates the introduction and takes a referral fee on the professional fee you charge.

Who can apply

Verification & vetting

We accept applications from advocates holding a current practising certificate and in good standing with the relevant bar. Every application is reviewed by our vetting team before approval — we check bar admission, professional indemnity cover where applicable, and disciplinary history. Approval is not automatic, and we may request further information or decline an application.

Approved advocates remain responsible for their own professional conduct, client relationship and compliance with their bar’s rules on advertising and fee-sharing. The platform does not supervise, instruct or take responsibility for the legal advice you give — it facilitates the introduction only.

Transparent fees

How the platform is paid

Fees are configured centrally and disclosed to every party before an engagement is confirmed — the platform does not hide or double-charge fees.

Client platform fee

Clients pay a KES 1,000 subscription (30 days of access) to advocate discovery, plus a 5% platform fee calculated on the professional fee agreed with you. This is separate from your own professional fee.

Advocate referral fee

A referral fee is deducted from the professional fee you charge for work arising from a platform-sourced referral. The exact rate is shown on your dashboard before you accept a referral, and never changes retroactively on an accepted engagement.

You set and are paid your own professional fee directly by the client, subject to your own engagement terms and your bar’s rules on fees and referrals. The platform does not set your rates.
