Cookie Policy
Last updated 21 October 2026.
This Cookie Policy explains how AI PRO LTD ("we", "us"), which operates the Wakili Link service, uses cookies and similar technologies on wakililink.com. Read it together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more generally.
What cookies and similar technologies are
A cookie is a small text file a website places on your device. Local storage and session storage are similar: they let a website keep small pieces of information in your browser. Session storage is deleted when you close the tab; local storage stays until you clear it. In this policy, "cookies" covers all of these.
Our approach
- We do not use advertising, retargeting or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell data collected through cookies.
- The site itself sets no first-party cookies. It keeps your preferences in your browser's storage, where they are never sent to our servers.
- Non-essential analytics only run with your consent. Google Analytics stays off until you accept it in the cookie banner.
- Logging in happens in the separate client and advocate portals. Those portals use their own strictly necessary sign-in cookies, which keep your session secure.
The cookies we use
The table below lists each category, what it does, examples and how long it lasts.
| Category | Purpose | Examples | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Remember your cookie choices and your light/dark theme, and protect our forms from spam and abuse. Always on, because the site cannot work properly or securely without them. | wakili-consent (your cookie choices, local storage); wakili-public-theme (theme, local storage); Google reCAPTCHA cookies such as _GRECAPTCHA, set only on pages with an enquiry, booking or intake form | Consent and theme: until you clear them. reCAPTCHA: up to 6 months |
| Functional | Remember small preferences that make the site easier to use. These hold no personal data and are never sent to us. | decision-reader-size (text size in the case-law reader, local storage) | Until you clear it |
| Enquiry attribution | Remember how you arrived (referring site, campaign labels in the link, first page) so that, if you submit a form, we know which channel led to it. | wl_landing (session storage) | Deleted when you close the tab |
| Analytics (only with your consent) | Google Analytics 4 helps us understand which pages are useful. It loads only after you accept analytics cookies, and you can withdraw that consent at any time. | _ga, _ga_<ID> (Google Analytics) | Up to 13 months |
Strictly necessary
These remember your cookie choice and theme, and protect our enquiry, booking and intake forms with Google reCAPTCHA. reCAPTCHA checks that a form is being filled in by a person and not an automated script. To do this, Google collects technical information such as your IP address, browser details and interactions with the page, under the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. It loads only on pages that contain one of those forms. Because these items are needed for the site to work securely, they do not require consent.
Functional
These remember small display preferences, such as the text size you choose when reading a court decision.
Enquiry attribution
When you arrive on the site, we keep the website that referred you, any campaign labels in the link (for example utm_source) and the first page you opened. This sits in session storage, contains no identifier and is deleted when you close the tab. It is sent to us only if you submit a form, so we can tell which channel or campaign led to your enquiry.
Analytics (consent required)
If you accept analytics cookies, we load Google Analytics 4. It helps us see which pages people find useful and where they leave. Google processes this data on our behalf. IP addresses are not logged or stored by Google Analytics 4. We do not combine analytics data with your account or enquiry details.
Cookieless site statistics
Separately from cookies, we count page views and which buttons and forms are seen and used, so we can improve the pages that help people find legal support. This runs on our own servers and stores nothing on your device. We keep:
- the page address, without anything after a "?";
- the referring website and any campaign labels in the link;
- a broad device type (mobile, tablet or desktop).
To count unique visits, we combine your IP address and browser details with a random value that changes every day, and keep only the resulting one-way code. We never keep the IP address or browser details themselves, so a visit cannot be linked to you or to your visits on other days. Raw records are deleted after 90 days; after that we keep only daily totals. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we do not record your visit at all.
Managing your choices
- On this site: use the cookie banner, or clear this site's storage in your browser to see the banner again. Withdrawing consent stops Google Analytics loading on your next page view.
- In your browser: every major browser lets you block or delete cookies and site storage. Blocking strictly necessary items may stop forms from working.
- Google Analytics opt-out: Google provides a browser add-on that blocks Google Analytics on all websites.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy if the cookies we use change, and change the "last updated" date above. Questions can be sent to support@wakililink.com.
