Terms of Use
Last updated 21 October 2026.
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and AI PRO LTD ("we", "us"), which operates the Wakili Link service. "Wakili Link" is a service name of AI PRO LTD, not a separate company. They govern your use of wakililink.com, the client portal, the advocate portal and related services (together, the "platform").
By using the platform, creating an account or making a payment, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform. Read them together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
1. What Wakili Link is, and is not
1.1 Wakili Link is a technology platform that helps clients in Kenya find independent, verified advocates, and helps advocates receive relevant client inquiries.
1.2 Wakili Link operates online only. It has no physical offices, and consultations booked through the platform take place by video.
1.3 Wakili Link is not a law firm. It does not practise law, give legal advice, or represent anyone in any matter. Our staff will not tell you what to do about your legal problem.
1.4 Information on the platform, including articles, guides, case law and legislation, is general information only. It may not reflect the latest legal developments, and it is not a substitute for advice from an advocate on your own circumstances.
1.5 Using the platform does not create an advocate–client relationship with Wakili Link. That relationship exists only between you and an advocate you choose to engage, on terms you agree with them.
2. Who can use the platform
2.1 You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a binding contract. If you use the platform for an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to bind it.
2.2 Advocates must hold a current practising certificate and be in good standing with the Law Society of Kenya.
3. Accounts
3.1 You must give accurate, complete information and keep it up to date.
3.2 Keep your login details confidential. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us immediately at support@wakililink.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
3.3 One person, one account. Accounts cannot be transferred.
4. How matching works
4.1 Clients describe their legal need in an inquiry. We route it to advocates who cover the relevant practice area and are accepting referrals. Section 4 of our Privacy Policy explains the automated routing we may use.
4.2 Each advocate decides independently whether to accept a referral. We do not guarantee that any advocate will accept your inquiry, how quickly they will respond, or any particular outcome in your matter.
4.3 You choose whether to engage an advocate. The scope of work, the professional fee and the terms of the engagement are agreed directly between you and the advocate. Advocates' fees remain subject to the Advocates (Remuneration) Order.
5. Fees and payments
5.1 Client subscription. Advocate discovery and matching require an active client subscription. The current price and term are shown on our Pricing page. Each subscription covers a fixed period and does not renew automatically.
5.2 Client platform fee. When you engage an advocate through a platform referral, a platform fee is charged on the professional fee you agree with that advocate. The rate is shown on the Pricing page and is disclosed before the engagement is confirmed.
5.3 Advocate referral fee. Advocates pay a referral fee on the professional fee they charge for work arising from a platform referral. It is deducted from the advocate's fee and is not added to the client's bill.
5.4 Consultation bookings. Paid initial consultations booked through /book are charged at the price shown when you book. Where the booking page says so, the fee is credited against the advocate's invoice if you instruct them on the matter within the stated period.
5.5 Rates are locked. The rates in force when a referral is matched apply to that engagement, even if our standard rates change later.
5.6 Payment methods. We accept M-Pesa and card payments through Paystack. Their own terms also apply. Prices are in Kenya Shillings and include any taxes that apply unless stated otherwise.
5.7 None of our fees pays for legal advice or representation. Advocates bill their professional fees separately.
6. Cancellations and refunds
6.1 Subscription. Because access starts as soon as you pay, the subscription is non-refundable once activated. We will refund you in these cases:
- the payment was duplicated or taken in error;
- we could not provide access for reasons within our control;
- the law requires a refund.
6.2 Consultations.
- If you cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before the confirmed time, we will refund the consultation fee in full or move the booking to a new time.
- If you cancel later than that, or do not attend, the fee is not refundable.
- If we or the advocate cancel, you can choose a full refund or a new time.
6.3 Disputes with an advocate. Disputes about an advocate's professional fee or work are between you and the advocate. They may be referred to the advocate's regulator or to the courts. We will cooperate where we reasonably can.
6.4 To request a refund, email support@wakililink.com with your payment reference. Approved refunds are paid by the original payment method.
7. Your obligations
When using the platform you must not:
- give false information, impersonate anyone, or create an account for someone without their authority;
- submit anything unlawful, defamatory or abusive, or anything that infringes another person's rights;
- upload malware, or try to probe, scan, overload or break into the platform or its systems;
- scrape, harvest or bulk-download content or data, including advocate profiles and case law, except through features we provide for that purpose;
- use the platform to contact advocates or clients for any purpose other than the legal matter concerned;
- arrange to engage an advocate you were introduced to through a platform referral outside the platform in order to avoid the platform or referral fees, while that referral is open;
- use the platform for any purpose that breaks Kenyan law, including the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act, 2018.
8. Additional terms for advocates
8.1 Advocates must complete verification before they can receive referrals. You must keep your practising certificate, admission details and professional indemnity cover up to date, and tell us promptly about any change in your status, such as suspension or a disciplinary finding.
8.2 You remain solely responsible for your professional work, advice, conduct and compliance with the Advocates Act and the Law Society of Kenya's rules. These include the rules on conflicts of interest, confidentiality, advertising and fees.
8.3 You must check for conflicts of interest before accepting a referral, and decline any referral you cannot properly take on.
8.4 We may suspend or remove an advocate who no longer meets our verification standards, breaches these Terms, or is the subject of credible complaints.
9. Content you submit
9.1 You keep ownership of the content you submit, such as inquiries, documents and testimonials. You give us a non-exclusive licence to host, process and share it as needed to provide the platform, as described in our Privacy Policy.
9.2 Testimonials are published only with your consent. You can withdraw them at any time.
9.3 You confirm that you have the right to submit the content, including any information about other people.
10. Our content and intellectual property
10.1 The platform, its design, text, graphics and the Wakili Link name and marks belong to AI PRO LTD or its licensors.
10.2 You may view, download and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial reference.
10.3 Court decisions and legislation on the platform are public-domain legal texts. Our summaries, headnotes, classifications and the way we organise them are protected and must not be reproduced in bulk.
11. Availability and changes to the platform
We aim to keep the platform available, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw features, for example for maintenance or security, and will give reasonable notice of significant changes where we can.
12. Third-party services and links
The platform links to and relies on third-party services, such as payment providers, government registers and court websites. We are not responsible for their content, availability or practices.
13. Liability
13.1 Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Nothing in them affects your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2012.
13.2 We are not liable for:
- the advice, acts, omissions, fees or conduct of any advocate;
- the outcome of any legal matter;
- any decision you make based on general information on the platform.
13.3 Subject to 13.1, our total liability to you for any claim about the platform is limited to the fees you paid to Wakili Link in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, data or opportunity.
14. Suspension and termination
14.1 You can close your account at any time by contacting us.
14.2 We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, puts other users or the platform at risk, or is required to be closed by law. Where appropriate, we will tell you why.
14.3 Sections that by their nature should continue after an account closes, including 5, 6, 9, 10, 13 and 16, continue to apply.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. The "last updated" date above shows the current version. If a change significantly affects account holders, we will notify you by email or in the portal before it takes effect. If you keep using the platform after that, you accept the updated Terms.
16. Governing law and disputes
16.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya.
16.2 If you have a complaint, please contact us first at support@wakililink.com. We will try to resolve it within 30 days.
16.3 If a dispute is not resolved, either party may refer it to mediation. If mediation does not resolve it, the courts of Kenya have exclusive jurisdiction.
17. General
17.1 If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
17.2 If we do not enforce a right immediately, we have not waived it.
17.3 You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours to a successor business, which will be bound by them.
17.4 These Terms, together with the policies they refer to, are the entire agreement between you and Wakili Link about the platform.
