Nation Media Group Limited VS MEDIA COUNCIL OF KENYA AND Media Complaints Commission

I have considered the suit by way of Originating Notice of Motion dated 28 April 2023 filed under a certificate of urgency of even date. I have not found any reason in the certificate of urgency to persuade me  certify the suit urgent. As matter of fact, the certificate of urgency contains more or less the grounds upon which the suit is filed rather than the reasons for the urgency. I am therefore hesitant to certify the suit as urgent. Be that as it may, I direct the suit to be served upon the respondent and interested parties within 14 days of the date of this ruling. The respondents and the interested parties to file and serve their response, if any, within 14 days of the date of service of the suit. The suit shall be mentioned for for such further directions as are necessary for its disposal on 31 May 2023. It is so ordered.
