The Applicant was convicted on his own plea of guilty for the offence of stealing contrary to Section 268 (1) as read with Section 275 of the Penal Code. The trial court sentenced him to serve 1 year’s imprisonment. The Applicant has already served 4 months and 11 days of his sentence. The Sentence Review Report filed on 3rd April 2024 by the Probation Officer Nelson Maroa recommends a non-custodial sentence. I hereby direct that the Applicant serves a Community Service Order at Kenyenya Primary School under the supervision of the school head teacher for the remaining period of 4 months.
