- The accused person herein has been charged with five counts of obtaining money by false pretences contrary to Section 313 of the Penal Code.
- The particulars of the offence are that on diverse dates between 23rd October 2023 and 10th November 2023 at Makadara grounds area in Mombasa subcounty within Mombasa County, with intent to defraud, the accused and others not before the court, obtained from AMINA ZAWADI, cash Kshs. 55000, Kshs 30000 from JANE MUPA, Kshs. 45000 from MALI TOYA, Kshs. 50,000 from MWANAHAMISI SHEHE, Kshs. 52,500 from RAHMA AHMED by falsely pretending that you were in a position to facilitate job opportunities in Qatar, a fact the accused knew to be false or untrue.
- The accused person pleaded guilty to all the charges and was sentenced to eighteen months imprisonment.
- A sentence review report by Boytone Omondi for the accused stated that the accused is remorseful and regrets his actions and his social support system is stable.
- In light of the above findings, the sentence is reviewed to the time already spent.
