The court having received the murder information and registered High Court Criminal Case No. E012/2025 against one ROBERT JAMES PURKISS a citizen and resident of the United Kingdom who is said not to be within the jurisdiction of Kenya and, having been moved by the Director of Public Prosecution for the issuance of a Warrant of Arrest against the accused, now therefore grants the Warrant of Arrest as prayed for purposes of commencing extradition process.
The court is satisfied that the bundle presented before it has reasonable details concerning the incident and there is probable cause to order the arrest of the accused and his surrender before this court for trial.
The offence of murder in Kenya is an extraditable offence under Section 4 and satisfies the requirement of dual criminality under Extradition (Common Wealth Countries) Act Cap 77 of the Laws of Kenya. The accused shall therefore be arrested and brought before this court for plea.
The media shall not publish the names of the accused and any of the witnesses in the bundle provided to court in order to safeguard the process of the court.
This should be avoided in both print, electronic or social media or any other medium.
