RULING
1. Due to the loss of the Deed file by the Chief Land Registrar, the Chief Land Registrar is hereby ordered to reconstruct the Deed file of L.R 8148 forthwith.
2. The Chief Land Registrar is given 14 days from today’s date to gazette the loss of the Deed file of L.R 8148 in the Kenya Gazette and reconstruct the Deed file of L.R 8148 within 60 days from the date of the gazette.
3. This matter will be mentioned on 21.09.2026 to confirm that the Deed file of L.R 8148 has been reconstructed by the Chief Land Registrar.
4. The Petitioner will provide a certified copy of the original indenture by the Deputy Registrar to the offices of the Chief Land Registrar and may carry the original from a second verification by the office of the Chief Land Registrar.
5. This verification exercise is not a surrender of the original title and Petitioner will retain the original title of L.R 8184 upon the second verification by the office of the Chief Land Registrar.
