RULING
I have perused this application dated 19/03/2025. It is noted that the applicant has not cited the law relied on for review of sentence. From the contents of the application, the applicant pleads for mercy in that he is an old man; has served four years in prison. Having been given remission of two years 8 months, he pleads for mercy that he be discharged.In my considered view, the applicant ought to file a petition to Power of Mercy Advisory committee established under article 133 of the constitution which advises the President of Kenya on exercising the power of mercy. The president has power to grant free or conditional pardon to a convicted person under the Power of Mercy Act, cap 94 of the Laws of Kenya.
This petition for mercy dated 19th March 2025 before this court is dismissed for want of jurisdiction.
It is hereby so ordered.
