HON. DORCAS MLUGHU & 3 OTHERS VS THE ACTING SPEAKER OF THE COUNTY ASSEMBLY OF TAITA TAVETA AND TAITA TAVETA COUNTY ASSEMBLY COMMITTEE ON POWERS PRIVILEGES AND IMMUNITIES COMMITTEE AND 1 Others

High Court at Voi High Court · · Jairus Ngaah

I have read the applicant's application dated 22 July filed under a certificate of urgency of even date. I gather from the application that the County Assembly session sought to be halted was scheduled for today the same day the application was filed. I could not have been inclined to grant the interim orders sought without hearing the respondents. There is no way the respondents could have been served and returned to court on the same day. In the circumstances, I opine that the application was filed a bit late in the day. Nonetheless, I direct that the application be served for mention before the presiding judge, Voi, for directions or for such other orders the learned judge may be inclined to give on 4 August 2025. It is so ordered.
