1. On 14th March 2024, the convict Gideon Rotich alias Okuro was sentenced to serve 2 years’ imprisonment for the offence of escape from lawful custody.
2. It is not clear if the main offence for which he was held in lawful custody, he was charged of or if he was convicted and sentenced to a term.
3. In the circumstances, I am unable to exercise discretion to make any orders on prison decongestion until a full report on the main offence is availed in court.
