'Before the Court is a Notice of Motion dated 12 August 2025 seeking orders to amend the Certificate of Birth serial no. 002254 that was issued in respect of the child. The same indicates that the child was born at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital. According to the Applicants who have sworn the Affidavit in support, the child was actually born at Kesses Sub County Hospital. This information is corroborated by the other documents produced in the adoption case. The Applicants aver that the error occurred when the child, who was born at Kesses Sub County Hospital, was referred to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital. This is captured in the annexed letter dated 21 June 2021.
Having read and considered the application, I find that the same is meritorious and the same is allowed. The Director Civil Registration Department is hereby directed to correct the particulars in the Certificate of Birth of the child herein to read that the child was born at Kesses Sub County Hospital.
