The Applicant was convicted on his own plea of guilty for the offence of cultivating narcotic drugs (bhang) contrary to Section 6 (a) of the Narcotic and Psychotropic Substances Control Act No. 4 of 1994. The trial court sentenced him to serve 1 year’s imprisonment. The Applicant has served 1 month of his sentence. The Sentence Review Report filed on 3rd April 2024 by the Probation Officer Mpaera Johnstone does not recommend a non-custodial sentence. I hereby direct that the Applicant continues to serve the remaining part of his sentence in custody.
Orders accordingly.
